As a busy mother, I understand the importance of any resource that would save me time, money and offer me valuable information.
Today, there is almost too much information on the internet and takes more time than parents have to find local kid friendly businesses, resources and activities.
Additionally, as a mom of an adopted child with special needs, I was frustrated with system and the lack of organization .How I was supposed to try and sift through all the many resources and determine where to get the help I needed with his behavior? More children today are experiencing the need for behavior help, therapy and special programs of some kind in our ever changing society. Electronics, games, social pressures, etc., have put a new spin on our children’s behavior, stress, wellness and drive to do more than sit on the couch and play with their phones.
In prayer, asking how I could make a difference to help families, I was brought to the Kids Directory. A Christian based National publication, whose mission was to connect families to businesses . I purchased the license for the Inland Empire and started the publication IE Kids Directory.
In the future, IE Kids Directory hopes to have publications for the High Desert, Riverside, South/ Eastern IE and South/ Western IE. Services, Products, Resources, Activities and Events supported by local, kid friendly businesses.
I added Brain Waves and Special Needs, as I struggled in where to start, when my child’s behavior became a concern. Friends whose children had serious special needs also struggled with locating specialists, support groups etc.
While there are many businesses, activities, services, programs, and professionals in the Inland Empire for kids, it can often be challenging to find them. My hope is that IE Kids Directory will be a help to your family and others.
