Behavior health & special needs

A child’s brain is in continual development. It is constantly growing and impacted by its environment, social connections and family; which continually stimulates its development.

Note from Publisher

As a parent of a child with behavior and special needs, I know how difficult and frustrating it can be to find the right help and or direction in which to help your child. I was inspired to create this page and to find a way to ‘splint’ the system, so that we can better help our children. In dealing with whatever the problem at hand maybe you may wonder, where do I start?
  • Start with your Pediatrician (sometimes behavior issues can mask health concerns)
  • Then ask your pediatrician for referral to a therapist, if needed.
  • Check with your insurance. Often your insurance carrier may have provider recommendations.
Before choosing a therapist you might interview several to make sure you and your therapist will be a good match. The website below offers information as to what questions to ask the therapist. Once you click on it, scroll through 2 photos before the info comes up on, How to Chose A Therapist.
